Successful Carwash

This past Saturday, our officer team along with a handful of committed members spent their day giving back. From 10 am until 4 pm they stood in the Wendy’s parking lot and promoted the car wash by waving brightly decorated signs. The earlier hours of the day brought in lots of customers and even until the very end there was a steady flow of cars. In the hot sun, our dedicated chapter worked hard to earn the donations of passers by. Many people had come just for the car wash which they had learned about through the spread of the informational social media blast that had been posted days before. To make the system as efficient as possible, our members used innovative thinking to create three smoothly run stations. It started with wetting, where we hosed down the car to remove any excess dirt or debris. The cars then moved on to washing, where sponges and soap scrubbed down the deeper stains. Thirdly there was drying, here the windows were cleaned with windex and the car was dried to prevent blotchiness. This event was a success in terms of turnout and donations, but even more than that it allowed our chapter to meet members of our community and inform them on why what we represent is so important!
