Giving Back on Memorial Day

This Memorial Day Monday was kicked off with helping the community. As a dedicated team of Habitat members put on their shirts at 8am, they prepared for one of the best events of the year! Today's bake sale was about more than just raising money, but about having a good day with friends while giving back. It was an extremely hot day, but member Zachary Metz says, "It's nice to get out in the sun in the morning and spend it with friends helping a good cause."

Today we raised a solid amount of money, but we focused our efforts on teaching the community about Habitat. If a car drove by but wasn't interested in buying baked goods, we still took the time to tell them about what we are trying to do and our chapter's goals so that we can have a more educated community. And after selling cookies all morning, groups of members went home, to the mall, or to the beach to enjoy their Memorial Day Monday together!
