2017-18 Officers

On August 18th Habitat for Humanity of Cypress Bay High School had a very successful and productive first officer meeting! After introducement of the President and Vice President, our Advisor, Ms. Arnold, gave an outstanding presentation. Throughout the meeting the officer team discussed and planned events for the upcoming school year. Habitat for Humanity volunteers will have the opportunity to experience many great volunteering events such as visiting a Build Site or visiting the Broward ReStore.

The carefully hand picked officers were hard at work to make sure that new members can have a seamless year. The officer team has painstakingly planned events that have been rarely put on by other clubs at Cypress Bay. This year Habitat for Humanity of Cypress Bay is planning, organizing, and executing two big events: a Golf Tournament and a Color Run. The team has had a vision of providing homes for people that need them, through events such as a golf tournament and a color run Habitat for Humanity of Cypress Bay inches closer to raising funds to sponsor the construction of a home. At the officer meeting the team discussed the logistics of the events, what is necessary and required, and planned meetings to ensure that both the Golf Tournament and the Color Run are big successes!

David McDermott (Golf Committee)

All in all, the officer team had a great meeting that was multifaceted. Without the vision of its founders, Matthew Liebman and Juan Salazar, Habitat for Humanity of Cypress Bay would not exist, let alone be a club at Cypress Bay High School! The 2017-18 officer team is hoping to have a great year for its members and looks to grow the club!

Matthew Liebman (President)
