This Saturday, ten committed Habitat for Humanity members drove to Fort Lauderdale and spent their morning volunteering at the Broward Restore! The Restore is a non-profit store that sells used or donated home improvement items such as furniture or electrical appliances. 100% of the profits made at the Restore go directly toward buying the housing materials needed to build houses. Members can help by organizing furniture, unloading trucks of donations, and cleaning the store. It is a wonderful way for members to get involved with the community.

On this particular occasion, the Restore was having a Furniture Sale outdoors. Laughs could be heard as members worked together to make the Furniture Sale a success!

One member, Katalina Enriquez, states “It gives me such a good feeling to know that I am playing an active role in my community. I enjoy spending my free time helping out and being productive. Knowing that I am making a difference and helping provide affordable housing to people makes it all worth it.”
The Restore is an integral part of the Habitat for Humanity operations. It provides the funding for which Habitat for Humanity uses to make a difference. A special thank you to those who took time out of their day to come and volunteer!
