Preparing for the Habitat Car Wash through the eyes of our member, Amanda Smale:
On September 22, I woke up at 9 am and got ready to start my day. I hurriedly ate my breakfast, and looked at the clock. In one hour, the Habitat for Humanity Car Wash would begin! I packed a water bottle and a towel to help dry the cars. I left my house and arrived at Wendy's at 9:45, 15 minutes early! I ran over to greet all my friends under the tent. Everyone was excited to get started. Soon a steady stream of cars started rolling in. All of my friends and I grabbed a sponge and got to work! While singing and dancing to the music blasting from the speaker, we managed to wash numerous cars in no time at all! Time flies when you're having fun! Later, I rotated positions and it was my turn to wave signs at the entrance to Wendy's and attract potential customers. My friends and I jumped, screamed, and waved at incoming cars attracting as much attention as possible. Eventually my shift was up and it was time to go home.
